Ever wonder what happens in the life of a food blogger? I promise- it’s not that exciting. On instagram, we post all these meals, and they make it seem as though we carefully lay out our berries on every oatmeal bowl, or slice the avocado perfectly for every salad. That, my friends, is NOT the case. You’ve seen that on all my What I Ate Today’s, but I’ve come to realize that I’ve never shown you a full day in my life, not just food. Well, now you have.
8:45: Post workout / pre tennis meal. I’ve seen smoothie bowls everywhere recently, so I hopped on the hype train. This bowl was one frozen banana + one cup frozen berries + ice + a splash of almond milk. After I blended it I topped it with one of my Almond Coconut Granola Bars crumbled up, along with some strawberries. Surprisingly filling and it gave me some good fuel!
9:15: Tennis lesson timeeee!
11:00: Late meal after a hoootttt tennis lesson and a shower. It was 80 F outside, and I still wanted egg white oatmeal. Typical. On top of my oats I added a fresh peach, some berries, cherries, another granola bar crumbled up, and a drizzle of almond butter (duh).
The reality vs the instagram.
11:30-12:30: SAT prep time. I spend an hour or two everyday studying, and today I focused on math. Fun times man- fun times.
12:30-1:45: Lazy time. Caught up on some TV recordings like Big Brother and Pretty Little Liars.
1:45-2:00: Put on some makeup, brushed my hair, and took off my over sized tee shirt + running shorts combo. I replaced that with an actual outfit, and headed off to a doctors appointment.
2:00: On the way out, I grabbed a GoMacro bar for a quick and easy snack.
3:30: The meals that don’t get ‘gramed. Came home from my doctors appointment HANGRY (hungry + angry), so I turned to the oven. In this bowl we have- roasted chickpeas, balsamic brussel sprouts, isreli couscous, roasted broccoli, feta cheese, mango salsa (homemade!), and avocado. Ugly, but delicious.
4:00-6:00: Blog work, blog work, blog work. Wrote three posts, responded to emails, and brainstormed recipes.
6:00-7:00: Dinner usually takes about an hour or so to make, so I usually blast a podcast and cook my little heart out.
7:00: Dinner tonight was- in one word- amazing. I roasted some chickpeas and added it to a bowl of sautéed veggies and arugula. Also added some balsamic dijon baked tempeh (!!!!!), some mango salsa, hummus, and potatoes.
7:00-8:30: I watched one of my all time favorite documentaries- Schooled. It’s about college athletes and the business behind collegiate sports. I am a strong believer that we should pay college athletes, so this film is perfect for me. If you’re a big sports fan, then I highly recommend watching this on Netflix!

8:30-9:30: Summer reading timeeeee. Reading the book American Dreams for AP US History, and even though I like history, this book isn’t exactly easy reading material. Therefore, I must eat to keep myself from going insane (at least that’s my logic). I chopped up a granny smith apple, and had this to finish off the night.
