August was a great month. It truly was. I went on a great hiking trip, hung out with amazing people, and, oh yeah… got my license. That’s right- I DID IT!!!!!!
1.) Driving- So yeah- I drive now. I can drive to Whole Foods, Lululemon, Target, and even useful places like school!!!! I love the feeing of this freedom, but my debt card sure doesn’t.
2.) Arizona Hiking Trip- My great grandfather built a cabin in Mt. Lemon, Arizonaalmost 100 years ago. Since then, it has been a family tradition to go every summer. The cabin doesn’t have wifi or cable, and cell service is limited. Thats why going there is so amazing. For one week, we aren’t on our phones 24/7. I read six books in this time, including a 500 page one in four hours. It thunderstorms almost every afternoon, and I love sitting inside with a fire going, listening to the rain and thunder while reading a book. Everyday my mom and I go on 8-10 mile hikes, and it strengthens our bond. This trip is always a highlight of the year for us.
There’s a “famous” donkey that lives on the mountain that we met last year. One day on one of our hikes, we were talking about how we had to see it again this year. Ten minutes later… we saw the donkey! It truly made my day.
Here are some of the views we saw. This mountain has to be one of the most beautiful places to see!
3.) Play Dead- This book is amazing. It was my moms book that she brought to the mountains, and once she finished it, I read it in two days. It’s a mystery novel about an NBA star who goes missing and the mission to find him. The plot is very different from other mystery novels with lots of twists and turns. I wish I could read this over again and experience my reactions again. Gets an 11/10 in my book!
4.) Big Brother- Big Brother is the only reality show I watch, and with good reason. I think it’s hilarious, and this season may be one of the best.
5.) Law and Order: SUV- Another month, another show. I discovered this show out of boredom, and I’m very glad I did. My only regret is that I discovered it so soon to school starting, as I want to finish it before I die due to junior year.
