Hummusapien recently wrote a “Confession of a Foodie” post and I agreed with EVERY.SINGLE.WORD of it. it was spot on, and I thought that I would put my own twist on it. Here’s my “Behind the Blog.”
1.) I am willing to wake up early for a nice instagram breakfast- I said it a few weeks ago in my WIAT, but I’ll say it again; I wake up earlier than I should JUST to make a nice, Instagram worthy breakfast. Whether it be perfecting the perfect bowl of oats or getting a nice almond butter drizzle on my yogurt, I always make time for it. It seems tedious, but I enjoy it.
2.)… but I am very lazy, and somedays, I’m eating toast in my car while chugging coffee and somehow driving safely as I try not to miss first period- I am the queen eating in my car. If you see driving to school on a day in which I have a test, there’s a 30/10 chance that there’s toast in my lap. I get caught up in last minute studying on test days, so those are the days where the ugly toast on a paper towl comes in handy.
3.) I spend way too long thinking of food arrangements- I am constantly looking at other people’s photos with a need for inspiration. “Where should the avocado go” “Almond butter drizzle or pool?” “HOW SHOULD I SLICE MY STRAWBERRIES?!?!?!” are daily thoughts. I’m a perfectionist, and if my photo isn’t how I like it, I’ll fret over it for days.
4.) I take about thirty photos for my blog posts, and usually use six- UGH. Going through them can be stressful when I find one I don’t like, because I convince myself there aren’t enough photos for the post. It always workout, thankfully.
5.) There is ALWAYS more food added on after my Instagrams- See that nice bowl of oatmeal? Yeah, there was probably three more slices of banana, 1/2 a peach, almond butter, and yogurt added afterwards. I like to eat, what can I say?
6.) I have a section in my house dedicated to my blog and Instagram posts- I have taken over the corner of our kitchen as my photo station. My parents are incredibly supportive, thankfully. I’m constantly moving things around to get the perfect lighting, which can bug my parents to no end. Whoops- do it for the Instagram, right?
Any of you do these things?
