An ode to granola: Granola, I adore you. You make the perfect yogurt topping. You add a nice crunch to a smoothie bowl. You’re even amazing in a bowl with a splash of almond milk. Never change.
All joking aside, I truly enjoy trying out different granolas. The problem with that, however, is the fact that store bought granolas are full of added oils and sugars. If you look at the serving size of an average granola, the amount you get for the calories is truly not worth it. Plus, there’s something satisfying about making your own granola and smelling it when it comes out of the oven.
This granola was a complete accident. I was trying to make granola bars, but they crumbled as soon as I took them out of the oven. Thus- granola! This flavor packs a ton of flavor, and even satisfies your chocolate tooth with the dark chocolate chips. My entire family eats this granola, and I’ve already had to make multiple batches of it. It’s unhealthy how obsessed we are. And now you will be too!
1/4 cup almond butter
1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
1/4 cup un-sweetend coconut shreds
1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
1 tsp cinnamon
First, pre-heat your oven to 350 F on bake. Combine all your ingredients in a VERY large mixing bowl, and mix well together. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mixture out. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until you think it’s ready. Once done, take out and let cool for a few minutes. Enjoy!
