I love grocery shopping. It is a pastime, and I do not dread it one bit. Since I still live at home, my mom does most of the shopping. When I can, I try to come with her, as I love exploring the isles (I could do it for hours). Kind of took you guys along with it today, and here I am showing you what I bought! I ventured to Trader Joes & Sprouts for this trip, which are my two go to’s for food.
*NOTE* This is not everything I buy- this just happens to be what I bought today.
Cherry tomatoes- I keep these in the fridge and snack on them through out the day. To be honest I could eat a whole carton in two minutes!
Arugula- Perfect for salads that you want a spice too.
Spinach- Another staple green in our fridge. Like the arugula, I usually just put it under a bed of food.
Kale + Brussel Sprout Mix- I use this for my school lunches, as it is very hardy and has a nice crunch to it.
Cauliflower- Not a usual buy for me, but I’m trying to make cauliflower pizza crust. We’ll see how it goes.
Multi-Color Carrots- A new buy for me! I’ve seen them every time, and I finally picked them up. Pretty pumped to try them.
Avocados- I got three, but I had already eaten 1/2 of one when I took these photos. Whoops. These are becoming a staple in my diet!
Baby Carrots: Perfect for chopping up in salads
Bell Pepper- My all time favorite vegetable. I can’t go a day without some.
Broccoli- I usually buy a large head of it from Sprouts. I love baking it with garlic salt.
Ezekiel Flaxseed Bread- My favorite brand/type of bread to buy. It’s extremely hardy and filling!
Potatoes- Pictured we have: russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, and white potatoes. You could say carbs and I are kind of in a serious relationship.
Corn Tortillas- For when I feel like having some tacos!
Oatmeal- I have three giant cartons full of dry oats, as I eat them almost everyday.
Grains- My favorite grains to eat are: lentils, quinoa, barley and couscous (normal & israeli style)
Canned beans- I love having beans as a protein source. My favorite are white beans, garbanzo beans, and black beans.
Plain Greek Yogurt- I’ve been eating this kind for years. I am obsessed wit the tartness of it.
Almond/Coconut Blend Milk- I like the balance of almond and coconut in this milk. Plus, I get more calcium, so it’s a win win!
Eggs- Probably the biggest staple in my fridge. My entire family loves them, and we go through a carton in about three days I’d say!
Liquid Egg Whites- I use these for pancakes and baking mostly. If I ever want egg white oats, these can come in handy as well.
Feta Cheese- My favorite type of cheese. I can’t get enough of it, and this is my favorite brand to buy.
Goat Cheese- NOT a normal purchase. I was craving it soooo badly, so I got a tine carton from TJ’s. Can’t wait for the toast I can make with this.
Single Serving Chobani Yogurts- I eat these as after school snacks, or with my lunch at school. They’re perfect for on the go! My favorite flavor is the peach one by far.
Three Grain Tempeh- AKA my obsession. I love packing this for school or sautéing it with some veggies for a stir fry. It’s a great vegan protein source!
Frozen Chicken Breast- I defrost these once or twice a week for a chicken dish. The fact that they’re frozen comes in handy.
Apples- Basically I eat one apple a day and the bigger, the better. I am obsessed with them, and they may be my favorite fruit.
Banana’s- My family and I (mostly my mom, my dad, and I) eat one banana a day- at least. We go through a lot, and are often re purchasing them.
Strawberries- Fruit can be expensive when it’s not in season, but usually we can get strawberries for a good price at sprouts.
Blueberries- Usually during the summer we have them more often because it’s berry season.
Blackberries- Again, during the summer it’s more common.
Grapes- I love adding grapes, weather they be green or purple, to fruit bowls for a good crunch.
Peaches- I’ve been eating them more often recently, and they’re really growing on me.
Unsweetened Apple Sauce- This is what I use whenever I’m baking something. Adds the perfect texture.
Stevia- Can’t drink my coffee without stevia, and this kind from Trader Joe’s is my favorite by far.
Hope that gives you a better idea of what I like to eat! I have a tab called “What’s in my Fridge” so check that out if you want to know everything!
