One of the most frequent questions I get asked is- “What do I eat for snacks?!” Since I’m at school during the day and usually have tennis or something after school, I don’t have a ton of time to make a good snack. That’s why I love bars- they’re so simple and already there for me. Grab and go- just what I need.
Clif Kids Bars
I prefer these bars over the normal ones- don’t ask me why, I really don’t know. These are a personal favorite for bringing to school. They’re perfect for picking at during a class, but since they’re not a protein bar and not full sized, they don’t leave me feeling full if I eat one before lunch. All Clif Bars taste the same to me, so as long as there are no nuts in them, I like the flavor.
These are probably my least favorite of the bars due to the protein bar taste (ya know, that chalky texture?) I still enjoy them, but that chalky taste and texture gets me sometimes. I don’t eat these a ton, but when I’m on the road (i.e a road trip) and have forgotten to bring a snack, I’m more likely to find these over Quest Bar (I know, I’m sad about that too). Most of the flavors I’ve tried I like, but my personal favorite is the Dark Chocolate Coconut one!
Mini Luna Bars
In October, I participated in an event that had these there for us to take home. They only had Chocolate Coconut and Lemon, but that’s okay. I actually have horrible memories with the lemon flavor, so I’m most likely to grab a coconut one. I find that these are perfect for a quick snack right before tennis, as they give me just enough fuel to play well but they don’t sit at the button of my stomach. I’m not sure if you can get the mini one’s at stores, so I’m sorry!
KIND Healthy Grains Bars
I’m so sad that KIND bars have nuts in them and therefore, I can’t eat them, because they sound amazing. However, there are these bars, which I’m a big fan of. I discovered them in China when I ran out of snacks and someone offered me one of these. They’re pretty filling for a bar that is not labeled as a protein bar, and they have a perfect crunch. Highly recommend!
And last but defiantly not least, Quest Bars. Every health foodie knows about these bad boys, and for good reason. They are amazing and every single flavor is perfect (I haven’t tried the Peanut Butter one because of the flavor). I don’t eat these that often because of how expensive the are (It’s truly depressing because they are amazing). My favorite flavors are the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Smores but all of them are amazing!
