Lately, my life has included a lot of running around and early mornings. I’ve had countless mornings of 4:30 AM workouts to make it to my SAT tutoring and then to tennis. While I have always been a morning person, that doesn’t mean that getting up at 4:30 is easy. I love being able to sleep in, make a good cup of coffee, and relax. So, with that being said, here is my “perfect morning.”
1.) Wake Up & Workout
You’re probably very confused as to why working out first thing is my perfect morning. Let me explain- I workout six days a week (taking Sunday off) and play tennis everyday. I love working out in the morning because I can get it done, and I feel more empowered if I do so. However, I’d love to sleep in and wake up naturally instead of setting an alarm.
2.) Coffee Time
I am a coffee connoisseur. I drink more than I probably should for my age, and don’t give me the “it stunts your growth” spiel- I’m 5’1 and haven’t grown since 7th grade (I’m a junior in high school). I don’t think stunting my growth is an issue. There is something so special to me about a nice cup of coffee. Freshly brewed, perfect heat. Having time to enjoy my coffee is something I make sure to do everyday that I can. While I have my coffee time, I catch up on emails and all my social media, as well as TV shows I might have missed.
3.) Planning Out the Day
As a firm believer in planners, I think that when you plan out your day as accurately as possible, you are setting yourself up for success. During my coffee time, I get my planner out and plan things out. Whether it be for that day, the next week, whatever- I do it. Takes little time and I feel so prepared.
4.) A Nice Breakfast
As you can tell by my instagram (tennishealthfitness 😉 ), I take breakfast pretty seriously. I enjoy making my food presentable and taking time to enjoy it. I hate the mornings when I have to rush out the door- I feel like I don’t start my day off right. Taking time to enjoy my food has made me realize how tasty it is, and I try to do that with all my meals- especially breakfast.
