As a child, I always asked for french fries as my side. I could be at a salad bar, and I’d ask for french fries. However, as I grew older, I soon realized that they were not the healthiest choice, and that there were better options. Recently, I’ve perfected homemade, no oil, sweet potato fries. They’re extremely simple, and once you stick them in the oven, all you have to do is monitor them every 10 minutes or so. My entire family loves them, and always ask for extra when I make them for myself.
1 sweet potato (Trader Joe’s sells single serving sweet potatoes, so I use those)
Seasoning of choice (I usually use cinnamon, garlic salt, or chili powder. In the photos I used cinnamon.)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. While oven is heating up, cut up sweet potato into “fry” like shapes, and place on baking sheet (I add a spritz of non stick spray on the pan just so they don’t stick to the pan). Dash your seasoning on the sweet potato (highly recommend cinnamon!) and stick in oven. Cook for 25-30 minutes, depending on how crispy you like them! These are perfect when you want fries, but not all the oils and other added ingredients. Super simple, healthy, and tasty.
