Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and it’s the one time of year I like peppermint. So, of course, I have to work it into my oats. Adding one special ingredient makes it taste completely differently.
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup milk of choice- I use almond milk
1/2 cup water
1 tsp peppermint extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1 banana, mashed (I recommend leaving a few pieces for topping it once done)
In a pot, combine milk, water and the peppermint extract. Once it’s boiling, combine its and mashed banana. Cover with a lid, and reduce the heat. Still every minute or so. You’ll know when it’s done when all the liquid is absorbed. Remove oatmeal from pot and transfer into a bowl. Add your toppings and enjoy!
