Avocado is a creation by God, I swear. It is just so tasty, and can be used in so many different ways. That’s why it is horrible that it is so forgotten. I mean- it’s avocado!! It’s what makes Chipolte’s guac CHIPOLTE’S GUAC!!! Today I’m going to show you six different ways to use avocado and get in some healthy fats 😉
1.) Smoothies- I know what you’re thinking… gross! Who would put avocado in a smoothie? I would, that’s who. Putting avocado (frozen is best) in a smoothie gives it a very creamy texture while also adding healthy fats and other essential vitamins. Plus, the healthy fats keep you full for longer than some imagine. So, with that being said, take the ripe avocado that won’t get touched for a few days, cut it in 1/2, and freeze it. Adding 1/2 a frozen avocado makes a huge difference!
2.) Dressings- My fellow foodie Clara (My Daily Declarations) whipped up a to die for recipe for an avocado pasta sauce. I was skeptical at first, but then, once I tried it- I died. It is the best dressing I’ve ever made. I make large batches of it through out the week, because a little goes a very long way. I’ll put the recipe here, so that means you MUST check it out.
3.) Pizza Topping- We’ve all heard of an over easy egg on a pizza, so why not avocado? I love adding avocado chunks on my pizza after it is cooked and taken out of the oven. When I put it on the cheese is usually all melty, so the ago sticks perfectly. Basically- it’s my type of comfort food.
4.) Avocado Moose- Like the smoothie idea, you’re probably thinking… WHAT. NO. I LIKE MY MOOSE NICE AND CREAMY. Well- if that is the case, then you’ll have no issue with this recipe. The avocado makes any chocolate moose very creamy, and recipes are easy to find! I’m still perfecting mine, so that’s why it isn’t mentioned here.
5.) Savory Waffles / Pancakes- savory waffles?? What’s next- savory dessert? I kid, I kid. But in all reality, savory waffles are quite underrated. When I make my waffles savory, I add an over easy egg and some mashed avocado. It gives it the perfect flavor, all while getting other key minerals inside my body.
6.) Guac- Does this even need an explanation?? Guac is slowly becoming America’s favorite food, and avocado is odiously a reason for that. Although, I’d ask for it on the side, as they tend to add a lot more than a serving suggest…
