Wow, I am thankful.
I am thankful everyday for some many things, and do not realize that only one day a year. Everyday, I find something new that’s a positive in my life- whether it a new inside joke, tennis progression, or even getting more than seven hours of sleep. Today’s post is going to be some of the things that I am truly thankful for. There are so many things I am blessed with, but these are just a few.
Just two years ago, I was in a very rough place in my life. These lovely people changed all that. I’ve gone from a very sad and unhappy person to a bubbly, loud, and over all better person.
Without them, I wouldn’t know where I’d be. As cliche as that sounds, I am constantly amazed at how I was blessed with such amazing people around me. Sure, we may not be popular, and yeah, we can be strange at times, but that’s why we chose each other.
From our late night Grey’s conversations to our pizza dates, we never fail to make each other laugh. Or cry. Or smile. Or anything. We are always there for one another- the good and the bad.
These sound cliche, but seriously. My family has supported me through everything, and without them, I have no clue where I would be. From coming to EVERY.SINGLE. ice skating competition and sitting in the cold rink all day, followed by hugs when I did poorly to claps when I performed well to watching a horrible football game because I wanted to, they are one of a kind.
I could write a whole post about my parents. They’re my traveling companions, exercise buds, tennis partners, and so much more. Without my dad, I would never have gotten into ice skating, and probably wouldn’t be pursuing a sports journalism career. My mom has lead me in so many directions, including around France without any map and to the baseline to return a lob in a tight game.
My twin sister, Ashley, is one of a kind. Born with a handful of special needs, she has embraced them and has bettered my life because of it. I can always count on her to warm me up for tennis or give me a good typo. She’s a minute older than me, so of course she holds that over me as well 😉 Ashley is one of the biggest blessings in my life, whether she knows it or not.
My grandfather is my best friend. I see him every week, and that is not enough for me. He is the one who influenced my love for football and turned me into the sports fanatic I am today. I will forever cherish the football games we’ve attended, and the boo’s we given (as bad as that sounds) to the Chargers (sorry Bolts- it’s true).
I could go on for days about how thankful I am in my life. I’m thankful for my ice skating and tennis coaches for putting up with my mental blocks. I’m thankful for my guitar teacher of eight years for pushing me very day. I’m thankful for my 2007 CRV. I’m thankful for my four Siberian huskies, as messy as they may be. I’m thankful for my bed, especially after a long day of studying. I’m thankful for the air I breath and the scenery I experience. I’m thankful for blogging, and how much joy it’s brought me. I’m thankful for the travel experiences I’ve had-from China to France- I’ve truly seen it all. I’m thankful for my SAT tutor for helping me push through six months of stress. I’m thankful for football, and sports in general. I’m thankful for YOU- for taking time out of your day to read this post, as well as my blog.
I’m thankful for the life I live, every single day.
