About three weeks ago, I received a package in the mail from Thin Slim Foods! I’m extremely great full for the opportunity to try out some of their products, and here’s what I thought of them.
Incase you’re confused, Thin Slim Foods is an up and coming food company based on the idea that bread products (i.e bagels, bread, desserts) don’t have to be feared or thought of as bad. I personally do not have the mindset of “carbs are bad” but I know many people do- which is completely false! If you do have that mindset, however, Thin Slim Foods may be the company for you.
There products contain very few net carbs and are a great source of protein. If you’re dieting, then I highly recommend these products. Let’s start with the bagels, which are my personal favorites. The bagels are 100 calories each and have 14- yes 14- grams of protein. With 2g of net carbs and 16g of carbs in total (that’s 14 grams of fiber!!) you can’t go wrong. I like to toast mine and top it with greek yogurt or an egg. They make for the perfect snack. I will most likely be trying out the rest of the flavors when I run out.
As for the bread, it’s just as tasty. They sent me the plain bread, but I find it has almost a sourdough taste to it. Each slice is 50 calories, 8g carbs (1g net carbs, 7g fiber), and 7 protein. That is amazing, considering most “low calorie” breads are higher carb. The first time I tried there bread out was before a huge math test, and the bread + the eggs I ate as well made for the perfect fuel. Like the bagels, I will defiantly consider trying other flavors out when I run out!
They also were kind enough to send me some desserts. I received an almond square, a brownie, a chocolate glazed cookie, a sugar cookie, and a vanilla muffin. Since I am not a fan of almonds, my mom tried out the almond square for me. She says that for 40 calories, it was extremely filling (contains 6g of protein!) and super tasty. She would defiantly try out other desserts. My sister tried the chocolate glazed cookie and she LOVED it. She is one of the biggest chocolate lovers I’ve ever met, so pleasing her is always a good sign. Like my mom, she would buy them.
I tried out the sugar cookie, the muffin, and the brownie. All of them tasted good, but my favorite was the muffin. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between a normal muffin and the one they sent me. It was moist and packed a huge flavor punch for only being 40 calories. I’m not a chocolate person, but for some reason I like brownies, so that’s why I decided to try it out. It was very brownie like in terms of texture and taste, which is always a good sign. Since I don’t really eat brownies, I have nothing to compare it to, but if I was more of a chocolate lover, I’d probably buy it! For one brownie it was 45 calories with 6g of protein, so it was the perfect snack. The sugar cookie was pretty tasty as well! It was moist and resembled a real sugar cookie. For 40 calories, it was a nice afternoon pick me up.
All in all, I highly recommend this brand. I wish they sold their food in stores, as I would be buying them regularly. I’m personally not on a diet or am “afraid” of carbs, so that is not why I’d buy it. I’d buy these products again because they were extremely tasty and filling. For someone who is almost always hungry, having something that is filling is always a positive in my book! I highly recommend Thin Slim Foods, and will be buying there food in the very near future 😉
