First off, I feel like I need to call you guys something other “foodies”. You guys are more than that, so if you have any other names I should use, let me know. Second off, I’m changing things up today. I’m gonna give you an overview of my week in between each meal photo. I love writing and connecting with you guys, so I feel like the more you can see about my life, the better. Let’s dig in!
I added a peanut butter cup to the classic oatmeal today, and I can honestly say these may be the best oats I’ve ever had. I think I’m gonna add some nut butter next time 😉 Also included the staples- Purely Elizabeth Pumpkin Fig granola, pumpkin seeds, hemp hearts, and fresh fruit.
I’m still going through these Juice in the Raw juices, and I’m honestly obsessed!! They sweeten them with just the right amount of apples so they’re not too bitter.
Right now, AP’s start in less than a week, so my stress level, along with every other junior in my grade taking AP’s, is extremely high. Since most AP classes do a final exam to prepare for the AP, I’m also preparing for that. I had my history final on Monday, so fingers crossed.
For lunch, I packed some leftover barley, some sliced turkey from Trader Joe’s that needed to be used up, hummus, and other veggies. On the side was an apple, these Trader Joe’s Truffle Almonds (HOLLYYYY COW), and a sparkling water.
Y’all need these almonds. If you like truffle fries, you’ll LOVE the almonds!!
Besides school, I haven’t really done much. As I’m writing this, I’m second guessing this idea, because it ain’t too interesting. However, my friends and I are going to the Beyoncé concert soon, so that should be fun 😉
In 6th period, I snacked on some of these Rosemary Crisps from Trader Joes (SO GOOD HOLY COW- y’all gotta pick these up) and some carrots, cucumbers, and hummus. We have an extremely early lunch at my school (10:45), so snacks are a MUST.
The rest of my afternoon snacks to get me through 8th period, after school meetings, and errands included a Peanut Butter Cup Lara Bar, Justin’s Hazelnut Butter Packet, and a green apple.
I guess I’ll give you guys an update and some explanation. I haven’t officially “worked out” in three weeks, and I’m doing well. I feel relaxed, and I’ve noticed that I sleep better knowing I don’t have to wake up and rush to start my workout. I think I’m going to take a few more weeks off and let my body fully relax (so really, until the end of finals in two-three weeks).
Guess what- I haven’t turned into a ballon. I think that my biggest fear I had going into this was that my clothes would stop fitting right, I’d notice a weight gain, etc. I don’t own a scare, and I don’t plan on investing in one any time soon. My weight isn’t the goal here; my goal is to let my body recover and my mind heal. If I gain weight during these next three weeks, then I gain weight. I’m not going to focus on it, and I’m going to live my life.
Dinner was too bomb to be good (is that a saying? Sure!). I found some EatBanza pasta and cooked it up along with some roasted veggies (DUH) in coconut oil (DOUBLE DUH), crispy tofu, avocado, feta cheese, and hummus. Sah good. SAHHHHHHH good.
Since I didn’t have school the next day, I took the time to catch up on email’s and watch the NBA playoffs. First “night off” I’ve given myself in month’s, and it felt so good.
Night timed snacked on some cereal with the addition of another Justin’s Dark Chocolate PB cup, which as you couldn’t tell, I’m obsessed with. I also snacked on one of these Dark Chocolate Honey Circle things from Trader Joe’s, which are amazing!! I’m loving my chocolate obsession today 😉 How I am just now hopping on this bandwagon I have no idea. Also, if you have these and haven’t tried freezing them, you’re missing out.
I also had the usual cereal combo that I forgot to photograph, so here’s a recycled photo.
Alright, I’ll see you guys next week- hopefully with a more exciting life and better name for y’all 😉
